A few weeks ago we became aware that Ambient Life photographer Tim Wallace had been short listed in the final for both the 'Commercial' and 'Environmental / Landscape' Photographer of the year awards. We are delighted to announce that its now been confirmed that Tim has won the 'Environmental / Landscape' Photographer of the year and was also runner-up in the Commercial finals.

Tim's image entitled 'North by North East' was shot at a location in the UK for a client in the US for the launch of a new element to their business. The brief was to produce an image that was both contemporary but also gave the feeling of space and peace.

Tim - "I'm over the moon with the award, it's always great to have work recognised in this way within the professional community. I remember the shoot well as it started just after 4am to make sure that we captured the light as the sun came up over the horizon. I did get some funny looks off a few of the early morning fishermen as I trundled down the beach with all my equipment and an old beaten up chair, I think they had not seen that sort of thing at the coast before...
Our client was really happy with the photography from the shoot, and I think quite a few people have seen the images now and nearly everybody that talks to me about them can feel the space and tranquility that I was trying to achieve so that's a great feeling for me. I was doubly honoured I think in that we also were in the final eight for the Commercial Photographer of the Year Award, it would have been too much I think to win both, but would have been nice I admit..., maybe next year!"
