I recently read an interview article that you had with one of the local UK photography magazines, specifically relating to your automotive photography. My initial response was one of complete awe, as I am both a very keen photographer and appreciate fine cars as well.

More recently I again came across your name on the Elinchrom website whilst investigating their Ranger system (after I assisted a wedding photgrapher that used the system for his own work). This time I followed the link to your website and I am now an avid supporter of your work, this admiration extending beyond just your auto photography. I have recommended your site to a number of the members of my camera club for inspiration and to see what superb lighting really is all about. Needless to say "oohhhs and ahhhs" are plentiful with the colour green dominating the faces of those viewing the images.

Your images have inspired me to pursue automotive photography more diligently and I would hope to achieve what you have in the future. Very well done.

Gorgeous photos on display in this feature. Love the location lighting and setup - much less clinical than the traditional shiny showroom floor.

It'd be fun to have you on Pro Photo Show sometime. It's always neat to hear photographer to do less common types of shooting and I loved the recent Scott Kelby feature on your work.

I have always found shooting objects that reflect light; glass, cars, mirrors, cars, metal, high gloss paint, cars to be a real challenge.
You pull it off with a skill that is truly impressive.

First saw Tim's work in the British Journal of Photography magazine and it is nice to read more about in my opinion one of, if not the best car photographer in the world. I believe it was Tim that said he loved the Nikon D3 because he once dropped one from a moving vehicle at 30mph and it still works!

I've the prints that you sent to the US of my DB5 nicely framed. One of them is already hanging and the other will soon be displayed.
The prints are very striking (to be honest they look even better than the car itself!). The framer commented on this, as did the people who have seen the print already displayed in my home. Thanks you very much for producing such wonderful work.

I have just come upon your website after bumping about the web, looking at various sites and photography links - now having literally looked at every single image you've provided on your AmbientLife website, I am left in a happy state of awe while also feeling a huge tug of inferiority - your website - your work - Fantastic, Beautiful, Wild, Slick, Edgy - completely unique work! I love it! I am an absolute amateur photographer, with a bit of home schooled design experience. I would love to spend just 1 day with you just learning and watching as you shoot. Once I overcome my feeling of, "I'll never capture an image like that!" I do feel inspired having taken in all your images. I feel you should certainly consider a book, just the automotive shots alone would inspire. Although, some of my favorites were in your fashion, life and landscape portfolios. I would love to learn any advice, tips or techniques you might share with an enthusiastic fan and excited amateur. I am so curious to know your shooting style, settings, workflow... ;-) Need an intern in the USA? My wife left me home alone tonight, so I thought I’d spend some time looking thru Flickr, and some other sites… I spent more time on AmbientLife than I did on all the rest put together – It’s really rare to find someone who excels in completely different genres – I guess you’re most ‘famous’ for your Aston work, but looking through your site, your landscape work is equally distinctive, and your portraits (either the commercial stuff, or the model you’ve used for the shots of the Russian theme, or the jewellery stuff), are amazing. I’ve been trying to figure out what it is that makes YOUR look, but I really can’t… the lighting, editing, composition and all of the boring technical gubbins are absolutely inspirational! Anyway… enough of the ‘worship’ before you think I’m some sort of deranged stalker! Take care, and keep up the good work!

Found your gallery after seeing Millenium Girl in the Digital Camera magazine featured Photographer section.
Your picture "Pool of Abandoned Souls" grabbed my interest - I live in Hartlepool, and have done all my life, and didn't know that place existed... a quick look on Google Earth, and it's less than a mile from my house! Just goes to show that you can be sitting just next to a great image, but don't have the vision to realise it.
