Operation MIB
Commercial photographer Tim Wallace has begun an exciting new long-term project after being approached by the Motor Insurers’ Bureau (MIB) to help raise national awareness of the organisation’s vital work across the UK. The 18-month photography initiative will support the MIB as they continue their efforts to reduce the number of uninsured drivers on UK roads and highlight the ongoing partnerships they maintain with police forces nationwide.
The collaboration started last week with Tim’s first shoot for the MIB, carried out during a joint roadside operation between Staffordshire Police, Cheshire Police, and MIB officers.
The operation gave Tim a unique opportunity to capture authentic, on-the-ground imagery that reflects the real work being done to tackle uninsured driving, a problem that costs honest motorists millions each year and leads to many countless deaths and serious incidents.
The MIB chose to work with Tim specifically for his extensive experience photographing specialist and emergency-service environments. His portfolio, showcased here, includes striking, high-impact visual campaigns produced for clients such as HELIMED Air Ambulance organisations, Search and Rescue, and major commercial brands. His signature cinematic style and ability to tell compelling visual stories in fast-paced operational settings made him a natural fit for the project.
Over the coming months, Tim will be embedded with MIB teams and their partner agencies as they carry out enforcement operations, community initiatives, and public-awareness activities. The resulting body of work will form a key part of the MIB’s strategy to communicate who they are, how they operate, and why tackling uninsured driving remains such an important national priority.
This collaboration marks the beginning of a significant creative journey, one that blends Tim’s specialist photographic craft with the MIB’s mission to make UK roads safer for everyone.
