Paper Cut - London
Commercial photographer Tim Wallace began a year ago working with Cadogan Tate, a collaboration that has quickly proven to be both creatively and commercially successful. A recent highlight of this partnership was Tim’s photographic commission documenting Cadogan Tate’s involvement in the installation of the new PRIEST ‘Paper Cut’ art exhibition at the Saatchi Gallery in London, a project that brought together contemporary art, logistics and visual storytelling.
PRIEST is an artist managed by Banksy’s studio, with Banksy widely recognised as one of the most influential and enigmatic artists of the modern era. Renowned for his politically charged street art, subversive humour and global cultural impact, Banksy has redefined how contemporary art is experienced, exhibited and discussed. PRIEST’s work sits within this lineage, combining bold visual language with a strong conceptual edge, making the exhibition a significant moment within London’s current art landscape.
Tim Wallace spent two full days shooting in Central London, closely following Cadogan Tate’s specialist team as they transported, handled and installed the artworks for the PRIEST exhibition. The commission focused on capturing the precision, care and expertise required at every stage of the process, from arrival and unloading through to final placement within the exhibition space. These images offer a rare behind-the-scenes perspective on the mechanics of a major contemporary art installation.
A defining visual element of the shoot was the Cadogan Tate vehicle itself, which had been painted with artwork by PRIEST. Tim photographed the vehicle moving through Central London, situating it within the city’s streets and architectural backdrop. These images not only highlight Cadogan Tate’s presence in the capital but also reinforce the company’s close relationship with leading contemporary artists and exhibitions.
The resulting photography has become a valuable asset for Cadogan Tate, now used across advertising, digital platforms and their website. The success of the PRIEST commission further cements Tim Wallace’s ongoing relationship with the company, capturing their role at the intersection of art, culture and logistics with clarity, confidence and visual impact.
