Automotive Fine Art
OCTAD.ONE, Redefining Automotive Fine Art
For decades, the world's most iconic motorcars have inspired artists, designers and photographers alike. From the sculptured curves of Ferrari Classics to the engineering precision of today's hyper cars, the automobile has long been recognised as far more than simply a means of transport, engineering and design works of art in their own right.
Increasingly, that appreciation has extended beyond the cars themselves and into the world of automotive photography, where exceptional photographic images are now becoming highly sought-after pieces of collectible fine art.
It is this growing appreciation for exclusive high end car photography that has inspired an exciting new partnership between AmbientLife and OCTAD.ONE, with the launch of a bespoke luxury automotive fine art business that has been created exclusively for collectors who are seeking genuinely and unique automotive art on a monolithic scale.
Eight masterworks, Four award-winning artists, The ultimate scale of automotive fine art.
Founded by Simon Wright, who also created the hugely successful Limited100, OCTAD.ONE represents a completely new chapter in the world of fine art prints.
While Limited100 has spent years building a reputation for beautifully produced limited edition automotive artwork, OCTAD.ONE has been created with a very different philosophy.
Every photograph offered through the new gallery is sold once, and only once. There are no editions, no second releases and no future reproductions. Once an artwork has found its collector, it will never be available again. For serious automotive artwork collectors, that level of exclusivity is exceptionally rare.
The partnership is also a natural progression for AmbientLife. Tim Wallace has enjoyed a successful relationship with Limited100 for more than five years, with his distinctive automotive photography proving consistently popular with collectors around the world. The launch of OCTAD.ONE provides an opportunity to take that relationship even further, offering collectors access to photographs that exist nowhere else.
Every image available through OCTAD.ONE has been carefully selected from Tim's extensive body of work and will remain completely exclusive to the platform.
Once sold, each photograph becomes a unique piece of photographic history belonging solely to its owner.
Creating imagery worthy of that exclusivity requires far more than simply pointing a camera at an extraordinary car.
OCTAD - Originates from the Greek word oktās (meaning "eight"), In ancient mathematical notation, it referred to a group of eight figures representing consecutive powers of ten.
Founder Simon Wright
Reflecting on the launch of the new company, founder Simon Wright explains the thinking behind OCTAD.ONE:
"I've always been fascinated by the luxury sector, having built global websites for AGA Rangemaster and studied luxury brand hierarchy at Postgraduate level in Marketing. While Limited100 was more about accessible luxury, I've always been intrigued as to how far a brand can be extended into the ultra-elite tier.
After completing a number of large format acrylic glass automotive art installations for Limited100, I realised there is a market for UHNW collectors, in both the private and commercial spaces. The logical choice was to create a separate halo brand for 1 of 1 commissions, so as not to confuse the Limited100 offering; this is how OCTAD.ONE was born.
We started working with Tim Wallace back in 2021, and the standard he sets, in lighting, in consistency, in just how few people can shoot a car the way he does, quietly raised the bar for the whole roster ever since. OCTAD.ONE's first releases are LaFerrari and Ferrari Monza SP1 by Tim Wallace."
What Makes A Truly Great Car Photograph?
The finest car photography is never simply about recording a vehicle. It is about understanding the design, engineering and personality that make every automobile unique. Light must be carefully controlled to reveal sculptured bodywork without distracting reflections. Composition guides the viewer's eye across every curve and surface, while colour, contrast and shadow combine to create atmosphere and emotion. Whether working inside a purpose-built studio or on location around the world, every photograph begins with the same question: how can this image tell the story of the car?
That creative process is what transforms commercial automotive photography into artwork worthy of hanging in a private collection.
The craftsmanship continues long after the camera has been packed away. Every OCTAD.ONE artwork is produced using museum-quality materials, with meticulous attention given to colour accuracy, print quality and presentation. Premium acrylic finishes, exceptional detail and outstanding longevity ensure every piece is designed not simply as decoration, but as a lasting work of luxury automotive art.
OCTAD.ONE officially launched on 23rd June 2026, introducing its first two exclusive releases from Tim Wallace's portfolio: the Ferrari Monza SP1 and the Ferrari LaFerrari.
Both perfectly represent the philosophy behind the new gallery, combining world-class automotive design with equally distinctive photographic interpretation.
Capturing Souls
Tim Wallace Talks about shooting these two very distinctly different Ferraris.
“Each car in many ways represents a milestone in automotive history. Each reflects a different era of engineering, design and innovation. Together they form a timeline of one of the most influential automotive manufacturers the world has ever known. As photographers, our responsibility is to go beyond documenting these vehicles. Our purpose and passion is to reveal their personality, their character and the emotional connection they create. Over the course of photographing these giants of automotive history, every lighting setup, every camera position and every creative decision was driven by that goal. To capture not just what these automotive legends look like, but what they feel like.”
Ferrari Monza SP1 – “There are certain assignments that stay with you long after the lights are packed away and the SP1 shoot is most definitely one of those. It was never simply about photographing a Ferrari. The challenge was always to capture the sheer emotion, presence, and distinctive Ferrari design ethos that makes each Ferrari so special.”
Few cars stop people in their tracks quite like the Monza SP1. Part of Ferrari's exclusive Icona programme, the SP1 pays homage to the open-top racing barchettas of the 1950s while incorporating state-of-the-art engineering and aerodynamics. With no conventional windscreen and a single-seat configuration, the SP1 is as much an artistic statement as it is a performance car. Photographically, it presented one of the most fascinating challenges of the entire project. Every angle revealed a new shape, a new reflection and a new opportunity to highlight the remarkable design language that makes the Monza so unique.
Ferrari LaFerrari – "It’s easy to create an ‘acceptable’ image for a quick win, but real passion you can make use of the light and design to create a truly inspirational piece of work through careful thought, exposure, and lighting. A camera does not create a great photograph, the photographer does, 90% of the achievement lies in your imagination of what you want to create.
In the studio, the objective was to capture that fusion of beauty and innovation, photography that highlighted both the elegance and technical sophistication of Ferrari's flagship hybrid.”
When Ferrari introduced LaFerrari, it fundamentally changed perceptions of hybrid performance. Combining a naturally aspirated V12 with Formula One technology, LaFerrari demonstrated that electrification could enhance excitement rather than diminish it. The car's design reflects its extraordinary engineering. Every panel and aerodynamic surface exists for a reason.

The Founding Artists
At the heart of OCTAD.ONE is a carefully curated collection of internationally acclaimed automotive photographers, each chosen not only for their technical excellence but for their distinctive artistic vision. Rather than representing a broad catalogue of imagery, OCTAD.ONE brings together a select group of photographers whose work has earned recognition throughout the automotive world for its creativity, craftsmanship and ability to transform remarkable motorcars into museum-quality works of art.
Alongside Tim Wallace, the founding collection features the exceptional work of Thomas Boudewijn, Rudolf van der Ven, and Paul Ward. Each photographer brings their own unique interpretation of the automobile, from dramatic studio compositions and evocative location photography to images that celebrate the engineering, design and emotion behind some of the world's most desirable vehicles.
Together, these four photographers form the creative foundation of OCTAD.ONE. While each has developed a distinctive visual style, they share a common philosophy: that truly outstanding automotive photography should do far more than simply record a car. Every image should tell a story, reveal the character of the machine, and create an emotional connection that endures long after the photograph has been viewed. It is this shared commitment to artistic excellence, combined with the exclusivity of one-of-one ownership, that defines OCTAD.ONE as a new benchmark in luxury automotive fine art.
An Octad is defined as an immutable group of eight distinct works. For this inaugural release, Limited100 commissioned four international masters of automotive photography.
Each given complete creative isolation to produce their defining masterpieces at a continuous, monolithic 340cm scale; a size more associated with gallery installation than print retail.
Eight works are available for acquisition from launch:
