Morane Saulnier MS.315

This week we were in Northumberland to shoot the first aircraft in a series that we are currently
working on for our client BBC Studios / UKTV. The work is all being shot to support the 2nd in the series of
Warbird Workshop that will air in the UK on the Yesterday Channel in April 2021.

We commenced the photography of a unique collection of fully restored vintage aircraft this week for our client UKTV ready for the second series launch of the popular TV series Warbird Workshop.

Driven by the success of the first Warbird Series a second series was commissioned and filmed and once again we were tasked with the
production of all the stills photography for use within the series launch, EPG and magazines, as well as for UKTV and Yesterday Channel marketing. Shooting commenced one a windy Northumberland airfield with the only existing and flying Morane Saulnier MS.315

This particular MS.315 was hidden in an aircraft hangar in Melun Villaroche aerodrome near Paris during WWII.
The aerodrome was taken over and occupied by the Luftwaffe forces and was used to house various Kampf Geschwader bomber units using the Heinkel HE111. To avoid the aircraft being used by the German forces, it was hidden in the hangar and the wing removed and put outside in a puddle to appear that it was unusable. As a result, she survived to this day and after a lengthy restoration is now flying again in the UK. She remains the only flying MS.315 anywhere in the world.
