Today is a big day for AmbientLife as we celebrate our 15th year anniversary in business.
Over the last 15 years Commercial Photographer Tim Wallace has carved a strong reputation through his photography shooting campaigns for our clients. Winner of many commercial awards, most recently Commercial Photographer of the Year 2021 at the British Photography Awards. Tim - "It's a big day for me today, 15 years in business, something that I am very proud of achieving, not least in these last 2 years when many of us have felt the extra challenge of how the world went into a sudden stall.
It seems like a very long time ago that I sat and drafted my initial business plan for all this. I researched my ideas and most people I spoke to said it would never succeed but I pushed forward anyway believing that I had to try or I would never know for sure and I have honestly never looked back since.
The last 15 years have been quite a journey and in those first years I often felt like my head was spinning constantly from the learning curve I put myself through, getting up to speed with running a business and pushing my techniques to be the best I could in my photography work.
There have been many amazing times and there have also been some really difficult ones but through it all I continued to always believe that anything is possible if I work hard enough. My first live shoot seminar was at the headquarters of Jaguar and I was on stage with not a clue what I was doing, years later I started shooting brochure work for McLaren and I exactly knew what to do and ‘got it done’, as I often say.
I if I was asked to say anything about my experience gained over the last 15 years it would be, always believe in yourself even when your alone at home and it seems difficult to push onward, keep working hard and things will fall into place. Be kind to yourself and know that whatever problems you have faced previously, you are past those and survived so keep going, you’re still okay!
Finally, always have a plan, I plan to live forever, so far so good…
I have had the pleasure of working with some truly amazing people over the last 15 years, seen some incredible places and shot some amazing projects.
